WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of the item by +3. A random substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.
The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variance (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as important for the latter due to the requirement to roll the perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.
The upgrader can be found in all major cities and is accessible at any time to upgrade your gear. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item, however they'll always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used for weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from item upgraders NPCs for various currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be used on any weapon or tool using a button, which displays an image of the item at the next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.
The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and the current item level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.
Item upgraders can be found in a variety of locations on the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and the possibility of obtaining the latest recipe. The upgrade discount increases with the number of items being upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete specific achievements or complete quests.
Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no item upgrader available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only available through a variety means. This is both a benefit and a disadvantage.
In Season 3, the upgrade system has been tweaked a bit, with several new features added. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a particular level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading additional items to that level will be less expensive, even when they belong to a different gear set.
click through the following page is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is cut too, but it is only available when certain milestones are achieved.
Crests
Players have a number of choices when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. They can use Flightstones, which are a general upgrade currency available to all, or crests, which are more specific and consumed during upgrades on specific levels of items. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.
The first thing to remember is that crests can only be spent on equipment of a particular rank, and each rank has its own requirements for upgrading. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, depending on the type of gear being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through completing content of the appropriate level, which involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons with all difficulties for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons to obtain endgame gear. The crests can later be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.
The new currency system isn't difficult to use, but it brings some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it will no longer require Flightstones. This change is designed to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.
It's also essential to use crests with care, since they have only one purpose. For instance, it's best to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests with the best equipment you have, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning on making. This is particularly applicable to items like rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The account-wide discount is only applicable when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
